Project Plan
Close the Gap of Health Inequality between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and Non-Indigenous People in Australia
Introduction
Project plans suggested in this paper aims to create a positive change in health inequality experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Australia. This particular topic was chosen due to its significance to Indigenous people, affecting their lives both in short-term and long-term. Also, this topic holds urgency in reconciling because the fact Indigenous people are not having access to an equal opportunity to be healthy is against their human rights (Calma 2008, p.21).

Project Proposal

Proposed Project: Close the Gap of Health Inequality between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and Non-Indigenous People in Australia.
My project focuses on making change in closing the gap in health inequality between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Australia. One of the biggest reasons for choosing this particular topic is due to my placement experience at Oxfam.

Welcome
This is my first attempt in creating a blog, so any suggestions or constructive comments will be greatly appreciated.
My name is Megumi, I am currently undertaking a degree in Master of Social Work at University of Queensland. And this is my final semester.
This semester has been pretty full on as I am doing 600 hours of placement at Oxfam, taking 2 subjects, and working full-time.
But I have been enjoying my uni life a lot, especially through meeting many great people and becoming friends with them.
As a part of my learning journey, I have now happened to have an opportunity to express my project plan using this bolg.
My topic will be around Indigenous Health in Australian society.
I will share my project proposal in detail in next post, but I am keen to share ideas if any other people are contemplating on around this issue...!
